On some days, the perfect cupcake is described above. On other days, when one is starving and wants a quick treat to devour, the two day old cupcake, for some unusual reason hits the spot. It has sat on the counter top just long enough to hard a bit more giving it a more substantial feeling. Biting into it feels more like biting into a hearty piece of bread. The frosting gives you the feeling that you are biting into something similar to a chocolate bar because it has had time to harden a bit giving the cupcake still another additional dessert treat quality. It becomes more of a candy rather than a baked good giving rise to the nice flexibility its changing texture can take on, becoming just another variation of the perfect cupcake.
Though cupcakes only recently developed an upsurge in popularity, causing a number of bakeries to specialize in just cupcakes, it was in 1919 when Hostess developed the precursor to the Hostess Chocolate Cupcake. The rich, creamy filling and chocolate icing was popular with consumers and a love affair was begun. Conveniently baked into a single serving, cupcakes provided a quick snack and permitted people to nibble on them whenever they wished. In addition, they were sinfully delicious to but their small size allowed them to feel good about not over eating.
Secondly, make sure that your cupcakes are not only delicious, but that they are presented creatively and beautifully. Even the world ’s most delicious cupcake may never get off the ground if customers are not enticed to try them. The more attractive the cupcakes, the most likely they are to sell. The choice of cupcake wrappers and boxes available today is huge so choosing packaging to make your products stand out from the rest shouldn ’t prove too difficult. Decorating the top of your cupcakes is really only limited by your imagination and there are many resources online that you can look at if you need inspiration.
